Dialysis ambulance transport takes a patient to a dialysis treatment and back by ambulance, with an EMT or paramedic crew. It is for patients whose care team has determined they need an ambulance for the trip, such as a patient who must stay on a stretcher.

The trip may start at a home, a skilled nursing facility, a rehabilitation center, or a hospital. The requesting team gives dispatch the pickup address, the dialysis center, the chair time, and the level (BLS, ALS or MICU).
